CTAI / Privacy
Privacy, in plain English
What this site collects, how it is used, and how to get in touch about your information.
Who is responsible
CrashTest AI (CTAI) is run by Woody John. For privacy questions or requests, contact the site operator using the email above.
Privacy choices and website analytics
In the UK, Vercel Web Analytics runs by default to produce aggregate statistics that help improve this site. You can object at any time with Reject in the notice or through the persistent Privacy choices control. Outside the UK, Vercel Analytics runs only after you choose Accept. Microsoft Clarity is off until you choose Accept everywhere. Your choice is stored in this browser; if browser storage is blocked, it applies only to the current page. The regional check uses Vercel's country code derived from the request IP and returns only a UK yes/no result to the page; this feature does not store that result in browser storage.
Vercel reports page views and limited device, browser, operating system, location, referrer and URL information for aggregated statistics. It uses a request-derived hash rather than third-party cookies and discards its visitor session after 24 hours. Microsoft Clarity can collect interaction and page events and capture page structure and content for session playback, with privacy-sensitive fields masked; it uses first- and third-party cookies for identifiers and session continuity. The Clarity project is receiving site sessions. See the providers' Vercel analytics privacy information, Clarity data collection and Clarity cookies.
Microsoft documents 30-day retention for playback data and 9 months for click data and labeled or favorited sessions in its Clarity retention schedule. Vercel's analytics reporting window depends on the account plan. CTAI's account-specific retention settings have not been confirmed.
Newsletter signup
CTAI links to Beehiiv for newsletter subscriptions. You leave crashtestingai.com and submit signup information directly to Beehiiv; the signup is not processed by a form hosted on CTAI's site. Beehiiv's privacy policy explains its handling of information. Publication-specific retention and transfer settings are managed through the Beehiiv account.
Commission applications
The current commission application form sends entries through FormSubmit to woody@crashtestingai.com. The fields are name, email, optional company, tool name, tool URL, situation, access method, report preference and an optional testing brief. FormSubmit says it retains submissions for 30 days; account-specific retention settings and processing location have not been confirmed. Do not include passwords, API keys or other access credentials in the form; arrange access separately if needed. See FormSubmit's documentation.
Contact and privacy requests
